Period of Recognised Training
The Blake Morgan training contract is made up of four six-month seats in various areas of the business giving a wide range of experience and opportunity. We promise a varied rotation of seat choices which will enable you to build experience, apply your legal knowledge to a broad range of issues and develop a full range of skills which will lay the foundation for your future career wherever you choose to specialise. We are also able to offer a range of secondments to some of our biggest clients. You will also attend your professional skills courses throughout your Period of Recognised Training.
Our trainees have a wide support network from the graduate recruitment team, who will be with you from the day you submit your application to the end of your first year as a newly qualified solicitor, to your seat supervisor, assigned mentor, regional training partner, training principal and the other trainees.
Our trainees are considered a member of the team from the minute they start each seat. You will be invited to attend client meetings, networking events, graduate recruitment events and various training sessions to help you develop your own knowledge, skills and confidence.
Application Process
Our recruitment and selection process is made up of four stages.
The first stage is an online application form where we gather standard information about you including your grades at college and university, work experience, references and personal information. However, we also use your CV and application form as a platform to learn more about you as an individual; why you've chosen a career in law, your hobbies and interests outside of work and why you feel you would be a great fit for Blake Morgan. During the screening process we are looking for individuality, honesty, passion, communication skills, attention to detail, commercial awareness and relationship building.
Once we've reviewed applications, we invite successful candidates to a short telephone interview with a member of our graduate recruitment team.
Short-listed candidates will be invited along to a regional interview panel. During the interview you will be asked to consider a legal scenario, as well as give a short presentation on a pre-agreed topic.
The decision will then be made as to who will receive formal training contract offers, to join us at Blake Morgan.
Sponsorship
We offer financial support towards your LPC and a maintenance grant should you decide to undertake the course full-time.
We do not currently offer financial support towards the GDL.
