We are looking for an entry level Administrator to support our busy and growing team of fee earners in the Commercial Litigation team based from our Cardiff office.  The role will ideally suit someone with an interest in embarking on a career in business administration within the context of a Law firm.

The position has the potential to develop into a Legal Support Assistant role with specific focus towards supporting our IP and Trademark practice.  We encourage applications from those who may be interested in gaining qualification through the apprenticeship route in Business Administration with potential to progress to a Legal apprenticeship.

Typical Workload

The core working hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, with flexibility of working from home, although attendance in the office will be required at least three days a week.

This will be a busy role providing support to qualified lawyers alongside Legal Support Assistants, so applicants must be able to evidence good client service skills, a positive approach to team working as well as the ability to work on their own initiative and organise their work.  The position requires someone who is approachable and confident with a flexible and output focused mindset. 

The role will include:

*       General administrative duties

*       Processing trademark renewals

*       Assisting lawyers with their caseload

*       Direct contact with clients, other solicitors and third party agents internationally

*       Assisting partners/solicitors in the wider team as and when required

Skills / Experience Required

*       Previous Administration experience – gained from within a full or part-time role

*       Good spread of GCSEs (A*-C or 4-9) including English and Maths

*       IT literate and numerate with ability to adapt to new technologies and systems

*       Intermediate in use of Word, Outlook and Excel, Teams, Zoom

*       Excellent organisational skills and communication skills (oral and written)

*       Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative

*       An interest in IP and Trade Mark law would be an advantage

*       Committed to rigour around treating all clients fairly

*       Focused on attributing dedication, determination and loyalty to colleagues, clients and communities

*       Able to demonstrate continuous development and diversity in thinking

*       Understands and complies with Information Security responsibilities commensurate with this advertised role including Data Protection and the duty of confidentiality
