We are looking to appoint an IP & Brand Protection Solicitor based in our Southampton office.  You will be working closely with and supporting the Partner and Legal Director within the team to enforce, protect and defend intellectual property rights, both nationally and internationally.

Typical Workload

The team act for claimants and defendants and you will receive a very broad range of work including but not limited to:

*       Brand protection and strategy advice

*       Trade mark clearance searches and pre-filing advice

*       Trade mark prosecution (both nationally and internationally)

*       Trade mark opposition and cancellation proceedings

*       Bringing and defending trade mark infringement and passing off proceedings before the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and the High Court and co-ordinating international disputes

*       Handling copyright, design and patent disputes

*       Confidential Information and Database Disputes work

Skills / Experience Required

*       Solid relevant technical expertise and intellectual ability, relevant experience from a similarly ranked Firm would be ideal beneficial

*       Enthusiastic and committed to a career in IP work

*       Strong analytical, organisational and research skills, with a genuine eye for detail and consistency

*       Dedication, determination and loyalty to colleagues, clients and communities

*       Collegiate and team-playing approach

*       Relationship-driven, approachable and people oriented

*       Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with exposure to client care
