We are seeking a qualified / part qualified (ATT/AAT) Tax Technician with a minimum of 1 years' experience specialising in personal tax to work in a busy private client team based in our Southampton or Cardiff office. You will work with a highly experienced Tax Technician and a range of Succession & Tax solicitors and experts within the Private Client business group.
The core working hours are Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm. We have a hybrid approach to working, which we are happy to explore with you, but recommend c. 2 days a week in the office.
Typical Workload
As a Tax Technician within our Succession & Tax team, your main responsibilities for the role will include working under supervision to:
* prepare trust and deceased estate accounts
* prepare cash-flows for managing expenditure in personal injury trusts, lasting power of attorney and deputyship matters
* prepare self-assessment tax returns and computations
* prepare inheritance tax returns
* liaise with HMRC
* prepare financial analyses of trustee investments
* attend at trustee meetings to present accounts, tax returns and financial analyses
* liaising with clients and lawyers
Skills / Experience Required
* Qualified / part qualified ATT/ATT Tax Technician
* Minimum of 1 years' experience specialising in personal taxes
* Good IT Skills
* Experience of working with tax and accounts software packages
* Committed to treating all clients fairly

* Able to demonstrate continuous development and diversity in thinking
* Understands and complies with Information Security responsibilities commensurate with this role including Data Protection and the duty of confidentiality
