We are looking for an Associate or Senior Associate solicitor with at least 5 years PQE in corporate and personal insolvency to work as part of the cross-office Business Support and Insolvency Team, primarily based in the Cardiff office, working closely with the Partner who heads up the team. Whilst the successful candidate would have immediate supervisory responsibilities within the Cardiff team, they would be part of the cross-office team and therefore be expected to work with our teams in Thames Valley, London and Southampton.
The successful candidate will already be working in all aspects of insolvency, both personal and corporate, including transactional, advisory and contentious insolvency. The team works for a wide range of insolvency practitioners, banks, lenders, investors, directors, companies and individuals and the successful candidate will be given immediate responsibilities and the opportunity to work closely with all clients.
An excellent working knowledge of the Insolvency Act 1986 and Insolvency Rules 2016 and Companies Act 2006 is essential, and the ideal candidate will have significant experience in dealing with administration appointments, security reviews, sales of businesses, winding up petitions, bankruptcy petitions, bankruptcy estates, matrimonial home proceedings, transactions at undervalue, preferences and directors’ loan accounts. Experience of appointing and working with LPA Receivers would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be expected to have excellent communication skills and experience in delegating to and management of junior colleagues, as well an enthusiasm for business development and networking.
Good contacts in the Insolvency Profession and a following would also be welcomed, but not essential. As would a candidate that has majored on contentious insolvency work, looking to broaden their skill set to become a fully rounded insolvency lawyer.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hard-working, lively, ambitious solicitor who is flexible, able to think on their feet and enjoys networking and contributing to the growth of a successful and busy insolvency practice.
We support hybrid working, typically with 2-3 days flexible office attendance, according to business need.
